Artadia Announces Houston Finalists
Artadia, a nonprofit grantmaking organization and network, recently announced six finalists for its 2021 Houston grant cycle. Artists Verónice Ganoa, Jessica Carolina González, Robert Hodge, Karen Navarro, Cindee Travis Klement, Preetika Rajgariah will receive studio visits for the second round of deliberations. Three artists will be chosen and announced in January 2022 for $10,000 in unrestricted funds.

BTS Band Member Visits Calder-Picasso Exhibition at the MFAH
Last week, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston welcomed K-pop star Kim Nam-joon, popularly known as RM of BTS to the museum for a stroll through the Calder-Picasso exhibition on view through early 2022. He shared his highlights of the visit in an Instagram post. Adoring fans flooded the comments, sharing their love for RM and their plans to see the exhibition.

The Heritage Society Announces Holiday Tours and Free Concert
If you’ve wondered about Houston’s historic architecture, The Heritage Society at Sam Houston Park is now conducting tours on Sundays for the holiday season. On December 19, enjoy a free, public performance by a group of young violinists from Ms. Mila’s String Studio, hot chocolate and snacks. Sunday tours are $15 for adults and $1 for children.

Houston’s Museum of Natural Science Brings Back Body Worlds
Just in case you missed it, Body Worlds & The Cycle of Life is making an encore presentation at the HMNS this Friday, December 17. Experience the wonders of the body, and over 100 human specimens preserved by Dr. Angelina Whalley through a technique invented in 1977 by Dr. Gunther von Hagens.
