— It could be months before the investigation into a deadly Southeast Texas music festival is finished. Houston Police Chief Troy Finner told reporters on Wednesday the Astroworld probe will be based on facts while noting detectives are working along the clock. Finner says multiple witnesses have been talked to and there’s hours of video to go through. The chief says over 500 cops were on scene at NRG Park last Friday mostly working traffic control and merchandise protection. He adds Live Nation security handled crowd control by the stage. Eight were killed and dozens more injured when fans rushed the stage during Travis Scott’s performance.
— A “Rust” gaffer is suing Alec Baldwin after a fatal, on-set shooting during filming in New Mexico. Serge Svetnoy, who was in charge of lighting, is also suing armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and assistant director David Halls. He’s claiming severe emotional distress as a result of their alleged negligence. The lawsuit claims he was hit with discharge materials from the blast that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. He also says that scene didn’t call for Baldwin to shoot, but instead he was supposed to draw and point the gun in the direction of the camera.
— Wendy Williams is “making progress” as she is dealing with ongoing health issues. She took to Instagram to say while she’s progressing, “it’s just one of those things that are taking longer than we expected.” She said she will return to The Wendy Williams show as soon as her doctor agree it’s safe to do so. The 57-year-old also thanked her staff and the guest hosts who have filled in for her during her absence on Season 13.
— “The Young and The Restless” actor Jerry Douglas is dead at 88. Douglas appeared in the soap opera in almost 900 episodes and played the character John Abbott. — Will Smith is revealing the “raging jealously” he felt over now-wife’s relationship with Tupac Shakur in a new memoir. In his book titled “Will,” the actor describes how he was “tortured” by the connection Jada Pinkett Smith had with the late rapper when they met at the Baltimore School of Arts in the 1980s. Smith praised Shakur’s passion and morality but wrote that he could not be friends with Shakur because of his own immaturity. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star went on to admit that he experienced a “twisted kind of victory” when his relationship with Pinkett Smith became more serious.
— When Jared Leto was preparing to play the Joker in “Suicide Squad,” he allegedly sent his cast mates some very questionable presents. During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, he set the record straight about his infamous gift-giving, claiming that his prior eyebrow-raising comments were made “in jest.” He said 99-point-nine-percent of the stuff he read about his gifts are incorrect, and he noted there were no scandalous items given to his co-stars. Leto did say “any of the very few gifts that were ever given were given with a spirit of fun and adventure and received with laughter, fun, and adventure.” He noted he was playing the joker it’s was okay to make some jokes.
— Billie Eilish’s Sesame Street episode may not air until June 16th, but the show decided to give fans a sneak peek by sharing a clip of it on YouTube. It shows the pop star and Count Von Count sitting on the iconic Sesame Street stairs, singing a reimagined version of “Happier Than Ever.” Given the 19-year-old’s duet partner, it’s no surprise that the new version’s lyrics are all about counting. Eilish is one of several celebrities to make an appearance on the show’s 52nd season, along with Kacey Musgraves, Jon Batiste and Anderson .Paak, among others.
