— It could be months before the investigation into a deadly Southeast Texas music festival is finished. Houston Police Chief Troy Finner told reporters on Wednesday the Astroworld probe will be based on facts while noting detectives are working along the clock. Finner says multiple witnesses have been talked to and there’s hours of video to go through. The chief says over 500 cops were on scene at NRG Park last Friday mostly working traffic control and merchandise protection. He adds Live Nation security handled crowd control by the stage. Eight were killed and dozens more injured when fans rushed the stage during Travis Scott’s performance.

— A “Rust” gaffer is suing Alec Baldwin after a fatal, on-set shooting during filming in New Mexico. Serge Svetnoy, who was in charge of lighting, is also suing armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and assistant director David Halls. He’s claiming severe emotional distress as a result of their alleged negligence. The lawsuit claims he was hit with discharge materials from the blast that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. He also says that scene didn’t call for Baldwin to shoot, but instead he was supposed to draw and point the gun in the direction of the camera.

In his book titled “Will,” the actor describes how he was “tortured” by the connection Jada Pinkett Smith had with the late rapper when they met at the Baltimore School of Arts in the 1980s. Eilish is one of several celebrities to make an appearance on the show’s 52nd season, along with Kacey Musgraves, Jon Batiste and Anderson .Paak, among others.
