Superior-profile leaders of Russian art and cultural establishments have been resigning from their careers en masse in the wake of the country’s invasion into neighboring Ukraine. Most of the statements from these curators and directors counsel that the decision to go away was voluntary, but there is some evidence to counsel that many have been pressured out by colleagues and bosses around their perceived deficiency of support for president Vladimir Putin’s war.
