Arvada Center President and CEO Philip Sneed has just returned from a goodwill trip to explore cultural-exchange opportunities with the West African nation of Senegal. “I think there is great value in exploring both the African and the African American voice,” said Sneed. “I think it’s important for us to give a platform for both, just as we present both European and American work.” Sneed, along with three officials from the Denver Botanic Gardens, visited at the invitation of Papa Dia, a native of Senegal who immigrated to Denver in 1998.
