Sting is the latest in a line of musicians to promote-off his songs legal rights, announcing that his back catalogue has been obtained for an undisclosed fee. Common Tunes Publishing Group (UMPG) now owns not only Sting’s song-composing catalogue, but also tracks he wrote for The Police, which reportedly went for all over $350 million (£258 million), according to Wide variety.
