Celebrated artist, proud Gunditjmara, Yorta Yorta and Barkindji man Josh Muir dies aged 30
Tributes are flowing for celebrated artist Josh Muir, a Gunditjmara, Yorta Yorta and Barkindji gentleman, who has died aged 30. Muir’s vibrant prints and huge-scale projections have adorned trams, the National Gallery of Victoria’s (NGV) exterior, as nicely as the Richmond Soccer Club’s 2017 Indigenous guernsey. Born and elevated in Ballarat, he won various awards including the prestigious Countrywide Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander Artwork Award.
