Anishinaabe artist turns everyday garbage into beaded pieces of art
One particular man’s trash is a different man’s beadwork. Nico Williams, an Anishinaabe up to date artist, is turning parts of garbage that he discovered lying on the floor in Montreal into beaded works of art for a new exhibition. He said that In the past, Indigenous peoples used baskets and basketry to hold points, and passed these items down from generation to era.
