Riverside, J.L. Mann, Laurens, Southside Christian, Southside, Christ Church and St. Joseph’s Catholic have won so far this week. Eastside, Travelers Rest, Fountain Inn, Carolina and Mauldin fell in defeat.
Here is a roundup of all the action from Week 6 high school football in Greenville County.
THURSDAY GAMES
Laurens 20, Greer 17: Laurens (2-5, 1-0 Region 2-AAAA) kicker Roberto Luna booted a 25-yard field goal with 15 seconds left to give Laurens a road win at Greer (1-6, 0-1). Kaleb Crawford kicked a 26-yard field goal for Greer. LaDainnian Martin scored two rushing touchdowns and carried the ball 29 times. Kaden Rowland was 10-of-18 passing for 132 yards. Laurens quarterback Nick Fowler was 7-of-16 for 90 yards and a touchdown, while Davidson football commit Cayson Elledge caught a touchdown and led the Raiders with 47 rushing yards.

Southside 25, Palmetto 21: Southside (3-3, 1-0 Region 2-AAA) got back to .500 with a tight win over Palmetto (1-5, 0-1). It was the Mustangs second one-score loss this season.
Southside Christian 48, Dixie 0: The Sabres, after starting 0-3 this season, are now 2-3 on the year and won in commanding fashion for a second straight week. JaCorey Martin and Carson Bolemon each passed for two touchdowns for SCS. Kyler Zimmerman had 107 rushing yards with a TD and Mykel Woodfield ran the ball twice for 17 yards and a score.
Greenwood 57, Berea 6: Greenwood (1-4, 1-0 Region 1-AAAA) won its first game of the year and opened up region play with a commanding win over Berea (1-4, 0-1). The Bulldogs only win this season came over Carolina.
J.L. Mann 14, Woodmont 7: Patriot quarterback Ethan Anderson threw for 93 yards and two touchdowns ‒ both caught by junior wide receiver Mikel McClellan. Na’Cyus Morrison rushed 10 times for 57 yards and Anderson completed 5-of-11 passes. Thursday was the first time J.L. Mann has beaten Woodmont since 2011. Zeke Belcher rushed six times for 36 yards and Tre Broughton had over 150 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Christ Church 63, Asheville School (N.C.) 35: Woods Windham, recently offered by Furman, was tactical as he completed 15-of-16 passes for over 300 yards with five touchdown passes.
Riverside 49, Wade Hampton 7: Riverside got out early and never looked back. Rob Sanders had five touchdown passes for the Warriors, Cayden Cosby caught five passes with two being for TDs and Owen Lundin had his first multi-touchdown reception game of the year. Cosby was 14-of-18 passing and Mikkel Skinner rushed for 89 yards to lead Riverside. Noah Smith and Zion Culbertson also had touchdown receptions and Stewart Chaffee threw a touchdown pass in mop-up duty.
Emerald 27, Eastside 14: Eastside is now 2-4 on the year and Emerald improved to 4-2 with the win. Kalvin Banks rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries for Eastside. Paul Cobin was 13-of-26 passing for 187 yards and a touchdown. Baron Leonard had five catches for 55 yards and a TD.
Broome 30, Travelers Rest 21: TR (3-4, 0-1 Region 3-AAA) dropped back below .500 after a dominant win over Berea in Week 5. Broome is now 4-3 overall and 1-0 in region play..
Chapman 42, Carolina 0: Carolina (2-5, 0-1 Region 3-AAA) opened region play with a shutout loss at the hands of Chapman, who hadn’t scored over 31 points this year.
T.L. Hanna 35, Mauldin 26: Mauldin (1-5, 0-1 Region 1-AAAAA) quarterback Emory Watson returned from an injury suffered against Powdersville and was 8-of-22 passing for the Mavericks. He had a touchdown pass and interception. Devan Ortega rushed 28 times for over 150 yards and Aaron Bowens had six catches for over 100 yards receiving.
Wren 49, Fountain Inn 7: Wren (1-5, 1-0 Region 2-AAA) got its first win of the season and Fountain Inn dropped to 0-6 in its first varsity SCHSL season since reopening the new school in Fountain Inn.

St. Joseph’s Catholic 62, Calhoun Falls Charter 6: St. Joseph’s (6-1) got back in the win column after a disappointing loss against Southside Christian in Week 5.
