Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins’ parents, sister sue Alec Baldwin over ‘Rust’ shooting

The mom and dad and sister of Halyna Hutchins, the cinematographer killed in the “Rust” on-set capturing, have filed a new lawsuit in opposition to Alec Baldwin and the film’s producers, according to the family’s legal professional.

The lawsuit, submitted Thursday in Los Angeles County Top-quality Court, alleges negligence, battery, intentional affliction of psychological distress and decline of consortium, their lawyer, Gloria Allred, mentioned.

In addition to Baldwin and the film’s producers, the defendants named in the hottest lawsuit include things like quite a few users of the film’s crew, together with armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and first assistant director David Halls, Allred said.

Many other lawsuits have also been filed in the wake of the fatal on-set shooting.

The film’s script supervisor, Mamie Mitchell, who is also represented by Allred, submitted a civil accommodate in November 2021 accusing Baldwin of “participating in Russian roulette” by pointing a Colt .45 revolver at Hutchins.

In November 2022, Baldwin submitted a lawsuit in excess of the lethal capturing, alleging carelessness of many of the film’s crew associates. The cross-criticism adopted the lawsuit submitted by Mitchell.
